Building regulations

Building regulations are a set of regulations introduced through The Building Act of 1984, in order to secure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people in or around or who may be affected by buildings. The regulations set minimum benchmarks for all developments in the UK. We work with appointed consultancy teams to provide accurate technical drawings tailored to your development. The information produced can be tendered to contractors, submitted for a full building regulation submission and more.

Arrange a site visit/ online meet. To discuss your project (including planning process, CDM regulations, procurement routes, project brief, project timeline, design aspirations, budget and appropriate consultants.

Issue fee proposal and appointment documents.

Either conduct a measured building survey or recommend an external surveying company for more complex projects.

Create existing drawings and issue for client approval or receive existing survey from external surveyor company.

Create technical design proposal based upon information from project and consultants.

Issue proposed drawings according to the project brief.

Project meeting to discuss amendments/ design updates.

Carry out updates to proposal and continue creating technical package of information, issuing and discussing with appropriate consultants as we go.

Once complete issue final package of information (including, drawing specification, window/door schedule etc) to client for review.

Submit to local building control authority or approved inspector for checking.

Create a private tender for building contractors and issue to 3-5 building contractor (these can be our/your recommendations.

Review council/ approve inspector’s response and amend the drawings accordingly.

Issue updates to tender invites.

Review building contractor responses with clients in a fair and professional manner comparing cost, quality and time.

Define two chosen contractors and arrange visit to inspect their previous/live projects.

Recommend appropriate contractor project.

Carry out contract administration role if approved.
